In the digital age, we are used to using audiovisual media instead of complex printed manuals. For this reason, at Sáez Cranes we are developing a series of videos that aim to become a reference when it comes to solving breakdowns or carrying out maintenance.
At Sáez Cranes we are producing a series of technical videos with the aim of helping customers all over the world to repair any breakdowns that may arise in their tower cranes, as well as various maintenance procedures that will help to prolong the useful life of this machinery.
In particular, these videos will be a good resource for tower crane mechanics, resolving doubts, explaining in a practical and simple way many basic maintenance procedures such as: how to change a brake, how to replace an encoder, how to change a hoist cable or how to maintain a tower crane.
As we publish each instalment, these videos will form a complete audio-visual guide that will allow you to:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the operating principles of the key-components of a tower crane.
- Learn specialist maintenance and repair procedures.
- Solve technical problems more efficiently and often independently.
- Improve safety at work.
First instalment: Replacing a tower crane brake disc
The first of these videos explains the process of replacing a hoist brake correctly.
The step-by-step guide includes removing the housing, removing the encoder, removing the brake coil and replacing the brake disc, right through to reassembly.
From our experience, we would like to stress that the use of the right tools is decisive for carrying out tasks more efficiently, safely and accurately, as well as prolonging the useful life of the component in-hand.
